MARK!

MARK! You would be surprised that a name such as MARK translates to ARK Murty... Adivi Radha Krishna Murty!

MARK ... I met him online much before I joined the MBA programme here! He was all guitars and rock music n stuff! I thought...wow! Some guy this! I imagined a punk kid... spoilt by the influences of the western world! When I met him, frankly I was surprised!!! Never imagined him to be the guy that he looked like! But then, that is what happens when u make up mental images!

All of us were quite surprised that he didn't want to call himself Murty...preferring the "rock" version of his name! We decided we would call him Mark...'n such that he would hate someone calling him that!!! Still remember the first day @ IIT, all of us were up till about 3 in the morn, and then Mark decides he wants a smoke! We all decide to accompany him to see where he gets his dose! And @ 3 in the morn, this guy goes to the Velachery gate (n that was closed, if my memory serves me right!) and somehow manages to call a guy who gives him the stuff he needs! Now that's resourcefulness!!!

A nice guy though, had (has!) big dreams, and knowing him, he will sure try hard.... for his dreams! He did his summers with me @ Ogilvy and I really saw what he was capable of! His boss made him slog...and slog he did! And brought out a wonderful report on the Bike industry in India! A real good piece of work! That he was left without work for the rest of his summers is another story!!! And his Mumbai struggles would fill up another post altogether!!

Hmm...about him.... plays the guitar (I won't say how! ) and then listens to some stuff I don't understand!!! He learns German sincerely (but for what reason I fail to understand! People tell me he teaches German to some junior girls after class! ) And of course flirts big time with GOD knows how many girls! And he has an able partner in Batra for this!!
We really love pulling his leg...and the good fella that he is...takes it in good spirits! (not that he has a choice anyways!) And yeah, spirits he does take! A whole PEG of them!!!

Btw, the reason why I write this piece is coz I receive an sms from an irate Mark,
"Saale not a single story about me in the whole of your blog!"
